Christina Perri

CHRISTINA PERRI broke onto the scene in 2010 when she was asked to perform her emotional break-up anthem, “Jar of Hearts,” on the Fox television network’s show, “So You Think You Can Dance”. The song catapulted Perri to a deal with Atlantic Records, where she released her debut album titled Lovestrong. The Philadelphia native had always dreamed of that level of success since she started singing at age 6. She attended the prestigious University of the Arts in Philadelphia for one year before she took off to Italy to “soul search” about what she wanted to do with her life. She eventually moved to Los Angeles and committed herself to being a singer/songwriter. Her YouTube videos caught the attention of Bill Silva Management, and as they say, the rest is history.

Parachute

Mixing full-throttle rock with dollops of blue-eyed soul, vintage R&B and melodic pop radio anthems in-the-making, PARACHUTE has arrived. With roots in Charlottesville, VA, the five members of Parachute have been friends for years and have developed a sound that is all their own. Will has been playing with drummer Johnny Stubblefield, bassist Alex Hargrave and saxophone/keyboardist Kit French since they were classmates in high school almost seven years ago. Will met Nate while attending University of Virginia together, and the guitarist joined the band three years ago. The unmistakable energy on stage is a result of their friendship, and it has helped them to find many successes within their mixed genre.

Scars on 45

SCARS ON 45 may never have come to be if co-founder Danny Bemrose hadn’t broken his foot as a professional soccer player. He traded his soccer ball for his father’s guitar, and quickly became addicted. The quintet is from Leeds, England. Their style combines the gentle melodic intensity of Snow Patrol or Keane with the added allure of co-ed vocals. Tension, often propelled by drummer Chris Durling’s insistent beat, builds throughout the songs as the emotional ante rises. The band has scored placements on “CSI: New York” and “One Tree Hill” as well as this season’s run of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
