HOWARD HEWETT is an R&B and gospel singer best known for his time fronting the group Shalamar. Hewett got his start through Soul Train dancer and future wide, Rainey Riley-Cunningham. He was later introduced to Jody Watley and Jeffrey Daniel, and Shalamar was formed. They are best known for songs, “Second Time Around”, “Dancing in the Sheets”, and “A Night to Remember”.

When Shalamar split up in the mid 1980’s, Hewett went solo. He released his first solo album on Elektra records in 1986 called “Commit To Love”. His signature song, “Say Amen” was featured on this album. Following that album, he went on to release several more records in both the R&B and gospel genres.

In 2006, Hewett released his single, “Enough” with jazz legend George Duke. He is signed to The Groove Records. Most recently, he collaborated with Teena Marie on her latest release.
