Chante Moore
R&B / Soul
CHANTE MOORE grew up singing in her father’s church. A natural beauty, she modeled and sang through her teenage years until she was discovered by MCA Records at age 22. By 1994, she released the R&B “Precious” and “A Love Supreme.” In 1994, she recorded “Your Home is My Heart” with Boyz II Men for the “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” soundtrack. In 2000, she was nominated for a Soul Train Music Award along with Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey for “Chante’s Got a Man.” While she lost to Lauryn Hill, the single was certified gold.
In 2002, Moore married R&B sensation, Kenny Lattimore, and was awarded a Soul Train Music Award for “Contagious” featuring The Isley Brothers. She later released a 20th Century Masters greatest hits collection of her most memorable songs. Moore and Lattimore collaborated on “Things That Lovers Do,” an album of cover songs. In 2006, the duo released a double CD of gospel and R&B love songs entitled “Uncovered/Covered.”
Moore started her acting career in 2007 when she starred in the play “By Any Means Necessary.” She followed up this performance with her fifth solo album “Love the Woman” in 2008.
Chante Moore comes to Anthology for 3 shows on 6/24 and 6/25.
