Diego Garcia
Latin Folk
Born in the late 70s, Diego Garcia immersed himself in rock, listening to Iggy Pop and MC5. His family moved to Florida, and at 14, he got his first acoustic guitar. He wrote songs throughout his teens and, while pursuing a degree in economics at Boston University, he realized he wanted to work in music. He moved to New York City after graduation and briefly played with the band Circus before forming Elefant, an indie rock band in 2001. The band released several EPs and two albums before breaking up in 2010.
Garcia has since embarked on a solo career and released his debut single You Were Never There. His solo project is reminiscent of his indie rock days with folk, latin and psychedelic influences.

“What Garcia creates is so pure and ethereal that you have no choice but to believe that every note, beat, and lyric is dug straight from the depths of his unrequited love-stricken heart.” Sputnik Music
