This incredible vocal quartet has harmonizing in one form or another since the late 1960s, but really came to fame when they reintroduced the complex jazz harmonies of 1940s big band harmony acts. Although the band’s biggest pop hit was 1981’s “Boy From New York City,” they are equally adept at bebop, bossa nova, and R&B.

“. . . Manhattan Transfer has captured the magic, singing with a captivating balance of charm and verve. Their harmonies are still impeccable and, while key to the overall impact, the solo voice also contributes to the soul of the music.”
