Leonard Patton

Jazz Vocalist

LEONARD PATTON was born singing. Ever since elemntary school, when he asked for a hall pass to expiriment with the acoustics of different hallways, Patton has been using and training his gift with song. When he discovered jazz, he knew he wanted to spend his life singing it. He attended Berklee School of Music and gained attention for his smoky voice and gift for improvisation. He returned to San Diego and became a prominent figure in the local jazz scene. His versatility allows him to perform with all manner of artists, from samba to scatting jazz standards. He’s played with such artists as Jetro Da Silva, Bill Cunliffe and Duncan Moore and written much of his own music. His latest album includes a cover of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song along with many original songs.
