Late Night Live

Nervous Wreckords & Midnight Rivals & Grand Tarantula

Indie Rock

After 3 albums, 4 EP’s, and 5 years of extensive international touring with LOUIS XIV, Brian Karscig met Anthony Saffery (producer and member of UK band Cornershop) in 2008 in a hotel bar before a gig in Cambridge, MA.

Karscig explains ‘I’ve always been a fan of Cornershop, and have seen Anthony playing sitar with Noel Gallagher on a Beatles tribute performance on the BBC. We started chatting and hit it off that evening. We kept in touch, and would regularly send each other mixes from bands we were producing, and really appreciated what the other was bringing to the sound of the songs. Soon after, I sent him some songs I had recorded and he loved them! We started working on some tracks together by sending hard drives of files across the country. The result: The Nervous Wreckords were born in June 2009 with a collection of high energy songs that infuse dance/club beats with rocking 70’s glam guitar riffs.

Now with a live band intact that includes: Brian Karscig (guitar/vocals), Cindy Cate (bass), Lindsay Matheson (guitar), Daniel Schraer (keyboards), and Tony Cupito (drums), the band have started the year by opening for CEE LO GREEN, have been touring up the West Coast of the US, and have made appearances at CMJ Music Festival in NYC, showcased at SXSW, and recently finished doing shows supporting Brandon Flowers (of The Killers). The Nervous Wreckords have self released their first full length LP VALUMINIUM (a collection of home demos) softly on their website and iTunes, Aug. 31, 2010. Help from word of mouth has led to the band selling out of their first
2 physical pressings of the album, are they are now preparing to hit the road once again, continuing to create awareness of the band’s refreshing new sound. The band is also recently back from supporting Weezer.

With buzzed about tracks “Doin it to Do it”, “8Track (I’m Comin Back), “Similar but not the Same”, and “Coming to an End” the band is creating viral awareness in all the DIY forums such as YouTube, Reverbnation, Last FM, and have sold out their first headlining shows up the west coast of the USA. The Nervous Wreckords are now working on a new studio album and head over to the UK/EUR in early 2012.
