Strunz & Farah is a very popular guitar duo who have pioneered an eclectic blend of world fusion and flamenco that has thrilled audiences since 1979. Jorge Strunz is from Costa Rica while his partner, Ardeshir Farah hails from Iran. Besides performing as a duo, the two have worked separately and collaboratively with music great like Ruben Blades and Sting. Their music can be heard in the IMAX documentary, “The Living Sea.”
- Jorge Strunz was once recommended by friend Paco de Lucía as a replacement for Al Di Meola in The Guitar Trio.
- Before joining with Farah, Strunz was one of the founders of the Latin jazz band, Caldera that blended of jazz, funk and rock with a wide variety of Latin music.
- Farah is a pioneer in adapting Iranian melodies to a western beat.
