Entertainer Cesar Roman Palacios was born August 27th, 1975 in San Diego, California. With his father playing the organ in the background, a six year-old Roman began his lifelong love of music and song. His father would constantly ask Roman to sing along for the family and friends, especially at Christmas time. These living room performances were only the beginning of his early singing experiences, because by 4th grade, his British born teacher was recruiting him for her newly formed school choir and immersed him in the music of The Beatles. Roman spent the next two years in the school choir, but did not return to the stage until he became involved in what he calls a bad rendition of “Guys and Dolls”.
Roman would not perform again until 1996 when he discovered The Red Fox Room at the Old Lafayette Hotel in San Diego. It was here that he met an incredible artist/pianist whose grace and style would knock him off his feet and inspire him to pursue a career in music. This incredible artist was Shirley Allen who was accompanied by the very talented Dave Shaw and Shirley’s son, Mark Mullen, who performed in the rhythm section. Roman spent the next two years learning from, performing with and perfecting his craft with this group in a variety of nightclubs, bars and restaurants throughout the San Diego area. In 1999, Roman landed on the Vegas Strip where he began to develop and perfect his Rat-Packish style. Then, it was on to New York, Florida, and a tour in Cancun for this crooner.
Eventually, Roman would find himself back at The Red Fox Room where another chance meeting would change his life. This time, he met an incredibly talented artist who would influence his thoughts on music, impact his vocal styling and instantly become one of his closest friends, Daniel Hendrick. Soon, the two could be found in local bars, restaurants and hotels where they would sit in with fellow musicians and share their vocal talents. Daniel introduced Roman to the fine art of operatic singing which helped unlock Roman’s vocal potential and catapult him to the next level.
A few years later, Daniel introduces Roman to another artist, Eugene Cole. Roman and Eugene instantly hit it off and become the best of friends. They work together, learn from each other and quickly realize that they have amazing comedic timing. They begin to play of each other’s comedy both on and off stage.
Roman’s vocal styling, delivery and phrasing are reminiscent of the greats: Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Luciano Pavorotti, and Andrea Bocelli. His presence is commanding. His voice is smooth, cool, powerful and refined. His undeniable charisma, style, charm and comedic sense of timing are something that must be experienced to truly be appreciated. Roman is the true definition of artist, musician and entertainer.
