KRIS ALLEN is an American singer-songwriter from Conway, Arkansas, and the winner of the eighth season of American Idol. His hits include “No Boundaries” and his acoustic version of Kanye West’s “Heartless.”

  • His current single, “The Truth,” features vocals by Train lead singer Pat Monahan.
  • As assistant music director at a non-denominational church in Arkansas, Allen has participated in missionary work around the world, including in Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand.
  • Allen almost didn’t make the American Idol cut, and only won because of a private sing-off between himself and another candidate.

Kris Allen is an American singer-songwriter from Conway, Arkansas and the winner of the eighth season of American Idol. His debut album was released November 17, 2009, and the lead single, “Live Like We’re Dying,” spent weeks at the top of the charts and has gone on to sell nearly 1.5 million copies. The album’s follow-up single, “The Truth”, features Pat Monahan of the rock band Train on vocals.
