Anthony David
Singer / Songwriter
Georgia based Anthony David, best known for his Grammy nominated hit _Words_, merges Southern flavor with new school grooves for an exciting soul sound. Savannah born, David moved to Atlanta to pursue his music career after a short stint in the military. In Atlanta, he befriended India Arie over their mutual love of 60_s soul and David composed a song for Arie_s _Acoustic Soul_ in 2002.
He began performing several years later gathering a loyal local fan base. Using Anita Baker and Bill Withers as inspiration, he developed a rough, raspy vocal style, which complements his poetic lyrics.
He released his first independent album, _Three Chords & The Truth_ in 2004 and followed up with _The Red Clay Chronicles_ and an international tour. David_s _Words_ won the 2007 SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award for Song of the Year.
He counts first lady, Michelle Obama, among his fans.
