Patty Ascher
Jazz Vocalist
Brazilian jazz singer Patty Ascher combines pop and jazz with bossa and Latin ballads for a uniquely captivating performance. While singing in both her native Portuguese and English, Ascher beautifully interprets Michael Legrand and Burt Bacharach while delivering on her own R&B flavored originals.
As a child in Sao Paolo, Ascher was surrounded by music. Her father played in a successful Brazilian band and all her cousins played instruments. She fell in love with the great jazz greats – Nat “King” Cole, Frank Sinatra and Cab Calloway. During her college years, she immersed herself in Brazilian music and soon found herself on stage singing at benefit concerts and fancy night clubs.
In 2006, at the tender age of 22, Ascher met bossa nova pioneer Roberto Menescal who encouraged her to record her first CD – an album of Burt Bacharach songs in bossa nova style.
On her lastest album Bossa, Jazz n Samba Ascher is accompanied by impressive orchestrations and well respected composers. Don’t miss this incredible artist!
