JONATHAN KARRANT knew from a very young age that he was meant to perform. He started tap dancing at four, joined a choir by five, and by 17, he was on his way to New York City. He was accepted to the William Esper Actor’s School, and also had vocal coaching. His first major breakthrough came with a job at the Metropolitan Opera House where he performed as a character actor along side such greats as Luciano Pavarotti.
In 2005, Karrant moved to Las Vegas, where he sang in supper clubs and casino showcases. He had an opportunity that eventually led him to San Diego where he maintains a very strong following.
While Karrant’s reputation is heavily rooted in jazz standards, he is also versatile in blues, Motown, and R&B. Karrant cites Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Nancy Wilson as strong influences.
