Winner of the 2008 and 2010 Blues Music Award for Entertainer of the Year TOMMY CASTRO took up the guitar at the age of 10, inspired by blues guitar gods like Eric Clapton and B.B. King.
Hardly out of his teens, he had begun playing professionally in the bay area in the 70’s. Since 1991 he’s led his own band, and hasn’t looked back since. He gained popularity in the bay area, winning awards for Best Club Band in 1993 and 1994. His relentless touring schedule and his boundless energy on stage have earned him a rabid following and at his shows his soulful voice and emotional guitar playing never fail to win over the crowd. His recent CDs have received large amounts of critical acclaim, winning best Contemporary Blues Album in the Blues Music Awards in 2008.
